P0106: Manifold absolute pressure range / performance

The MAP sensor signal does not match the pressure expected from throttle position, boost, engine speed, and airflow.

Common symptoms

  • Hesitation
  • Poor acceleration
  • Rough idle
  • Reduced-power mode

Likely causes

  • Boost or vacuum leak
  • Contaminated MAP sensor
  • Blocked pressure port
  • Wiring or reference-voltage fault

First checks

  • Compare MAP, MAF, and boost data
  • Inspect intake and charge pipes
  • Check sensor supply, ground, and pressure-port contamination

Important

A MAP code can be caused by air leaks or boost-control faults; do not replace the sensor without plausibility checks.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
