P0113: Intake-air temperature sensor circuit high

The ECU sees an intake-air temperature signal that is higher voltage than expected, often interpreted as an unrealistically cold reading.

Common symptoms

  • Engine warning light
  • Poor cold running
  • Rich mixture
  • Reduced economy

Likely causes

  • Disconnected IAT sensor
  • Open circuit in the signal wire
  • Sensor contamination or failure
  • MAF/IAT combined sensor fault

First checks

  • Compare intake-air temperature to ambient before starting
  • Inspect the MAF/IAT connector and wiring
  • Check for a plausible signal while moving the harness

Important

Do not replace the sensor until the live temperature value and connector condition have been checked.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
