P0335: Crankshaft position sensor circuit

The ECU is missing or cannot trust the crankshaft position signal.

Common symptoms

  • No start
  • Stalling when hot
  • Long cranking
  • Tachometer drop

Likely causes

  • Failed crankshaft sensor
  • Heat-related sensor fault
  • Damaged wiring
  • Reluctor wheel or signal gap issue

First checks

  • Check RPM signal while cranking
  • Inspect wiring near heat and moving parts
  • Scope the crank signal if the fault is intermittent

Important

A failing crank sensor can cause sudden stalling or a no-start condition.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
