P0606: ECM / PCM processor fault

The engine controller detected an internal processor or control-module fault.

Common symptoms

  • No start
  • Stalling
  • Multiple unrelated faults
  • Reduced power

Likely causes

  • Control-module internal failure
  • Low voltage or power supply interruption
  • Water ingress
  • Poor ground or corrupted programming

First checks

  • Confirm battery, power, and grounds first
  • Check for water ingress or connector corrosion
  • Verify software and related voltage faults before replacing the ECU

Important

ECU replacement is expensive and usually requires programming; prove power and ground integrity first.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
