P0641: Sensor reference voltage A circuit open
A shared 5-volt reference circuit for engine sensors is missing, shorted, or pulled out of range.
Common symptoms
- •No start
- •Reduced power
- •Multiple sensor codes
- •Intermittent stalling
Likely causes
- •Shorted sensor
- •Damaged wiring
- •Water ingress
- •ECU reference-voltage fault
First checks
- •List every code sharing the reference circuit
- •Unplug suspect sensors one at a time
- •Inspect harness areas near heat, oil, and water entry
Important
Do not replace multiple sensors at once; one shorted component can pull down the entire reference circuit.
A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
