P2263: Turbocharger boost-system performance

The complete turbocharging system is not producing or controlling boost as expected.

Common symptoms

  • Low power
  • Reduced-power mode
  • Smoke
  • Whistling or siren noise

Likely causes

  • Charge-air leak
  • Actuator or vacuum fault
  • Sticking turbo geometry
  • Exhaust restriction or turbo wear

First checks

  • Log requested and actual boost
  • Pressure-test the charge system
  • Check actuator travel and exhaust restrictions

Important

Stop driving if the turbo becomes noisy, produces heavy smoke, or passes oil into the intake.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
