P2453: DPF differential-pressure sensor range / performance

The pressure signal used to calculate DPF restriction is implausible or outside range.

Common symptoms

  • DPF warning
  • Regeneration problems
  • Reduced power
  • Incorrect soot estimate

Likely causes

  • Blocked, split, or reversed pressure hoses
  • Failed pressure sensor
  • Wiring fault
  • Severely restricted filter

First checks

  • Check key-on engine-off pressure value
  • Inspect both pressure hoses
  • Compare pressure at idle and raised speed

Important

A bad pressure signal can mislead regeneration strategy and soot-load calculations.

A fault code identifies a detected condition, not a failed part. Confirm manufacturer-specific subcodes and live data.
